Simulation teaching and training

“My name is Ethel Ryan. I am a Neonatologist & Paediatrician working in UCHG. I became interested in simulation teaching and training while completing my neonatal fellowship in Melbourne, Australia, usinf simulated mannequins for junior doctor induction. I have completed my MSc in Clinical Education through the University of Edinburgh and my final year research thesis was based on simulation. It is a teaching tool being used more and more in both undergraduate and postgraduate education , in medical, nursing and allied health arenas. While it will never replace ward teaching, it can serve as a useful adjunct in the medical teaching environment.”

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Ethel

If you have a cold or flu this winter – remember – antibiotics just won’t do. Taking antibiotics when you don’t need them is a waste, can harm your health and increases antibiotic resistance. Antibiotics are wasted on colds and flu. For more information visit http://www.hse.ie/go/antibiotics
